Stamped and cast components for the fittings and heating sector
Not only machining from bars: Foma also supplies casted and moulded brass articles.
Foma's mission has always been to supply its customers with precise components, corresponding to the drawings and specifications requested, on time and with competitive prices.
We have always been driven by curiosity and the desire to be able to offer the most different solutions in terms of materials, machining and finishes, while keeping the core of our expertise intact and coherent: mechanical machining.
Our expertise and commercial penetration in the sanitary and hydrotechnical sectors are the base of our latest step in supplying these sectors.
As well as turned components from bar stock, we are now able to supply our customers with cast and moulded components that are then processed mechanically.
Depending on requirements, we can produce components casted by gravity or with low pressure process.
The casting process takes place through the creation and insertion of a sand core inside the casting mould called shell. The brass melted with the aid of furnaces is then melted into the mould to create an initial semi-finished product that is then finished and mechanically processed according to customer requirements.
In the case of moulded articles, the process involves heating a portion of the bar, which once exposed to high temperature is moulded by means of presses into the moulds made to measure for the manufacture of a specific component. Also in this case, afterwards, the mechanical processing takes place.
These complicated work steps are handled in outsourcing by qualified and skilled partners with years of experience in casting and moulding processes.
Foma is involved in "first person" in what has always been its core business: the mechanical machining. Through our highly automated and flexible machining centres, (Mazak HCN-5000), we can now process cast and/or moulded components in small and large batches, as required.
This is followed by polishing, chrome plating, assemblies, and leak testing, completing the range of opportunities and options that we can handle for our customers in complete autonomy.
The aim is to give our customers the opportunity to have a unique partner capable of managing the entire production chain for the procurement of cast and pressed components, machined, and in the required finish.
