New investment in Foma: one of the most advanced lathes on the market

Proof of the future at Foma: the new INDEX MS 40-8 CNC multispindle has arrived: developed for use with the latest production technologies.

Precise, fast and flexible, it is one of the most important investments made by Foma in recent years.  

This system extends the range of machining operations that can be performed, increases our flexibility and reduces production and delivery times.

This decision entailed significant investments in terms of resources and the selection of a leading technical partner in the sector (Index Traub), with the aim of expanding the turning division in the main Armeno plant with the highest level of technology available on the market today.   

The new INDEX MS 40-8 CNC with 8 spindles is capable of machining all types of materials and speeding up production processes by guaranteeing a unique precision of execution, giving Foma the possibility of entering new markets and increasing competitiveness in those already covered.

Below are some technical details pertaining to the new Index MS 40-8:

8 fully independent electrospindles with speeds of up to 7,000 rpm;

2 Syncro configuration: offers the possibility of machining two different components simultaneously;

Bar passage up to 40 mm; 

Two slides with additional Y-axes;

iXpanel: INDEX C200 numerical control based on Siemens Sinumerik 840D sl.
